In cooperation between Bielefeld University and the Ecole Doctorale d´Economie of the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
Funded by the German Science Foundation (DFG) and the Ministère de l'éducation nationale de l'enseignement supérieur et de la recherche (MENSR).
Starting in April 2005 the International Research Training Group (internationales Graduiertenkolleg) EBIM offers a structured graduate program in the field of Quantitative Economics. The program is oriented towards highest international standards and is taught by a faculty of distinguished researchers in Bielefeld and Paris as well as foreign experts. All courses are offered in English. A stay of at least 6 months at the Partner university in Paris is mandatory. Students are involved in active research and participate in at least one of four topical research projects pursued within EBIM. A number of activities facilitate the vivid exchange of ideas and discussions among students and between students and faculty at both partner universities. The aim of the program is to prepare graduates for successful careers in academia, business and the public service. After a successful review of the program by the German Science Foundation (DFG) in 2009, DFG funding of EBIM has been extended until 2014. The program is carried out in close cooperation with the Bielefeld Graduate School of Economics and Management (BIGSEM) - in particular, the course program taken by EBIM students coincides with the BiGSEM curriculum.
